Stenen…

Stones…

With every stone that I saw passed from the pick-up truck on the video sent to us from Malawi, my heart jumped. Never before did I see such a good feeling when I saw a growing pile of stones. They are also stones with a purpose. They are also stones with a story.

That story begins in the fall of 2019. A period in which we accelerated based on the enthusiasm of Ellen, Michel and Christopher from Malawi to build a school in the Kasungu District.

In fact, in no time we had a construction team, construction drawings and a lot of enthusiastic people from the community in Malawi when a virus threw a spanner in the works ….. But… a spoiled dish is not yet a failed meal. We used the open time to pour in our foundation SEEn and to take some targeted support actions for the community of Christopher in Kasungu as well as for the community in Cape Maclear. And… successfully!

Yet there was and is “the bigger picture”. Our idea, wish, dream … give it a name … to ‘build’ education and entrepreneurship together with the people from the community of Christopher in Kasungu. This also literally means “building”: now in July “20 will be building a “shelter” so that the children from the Kasungu district in the rainy season can follow their” education under roof “. To hopefully continue working together next year and realize a school building. This, partly supported by a good water and food supply, could form the foundation for the development of forms of education and entrepreneurship that suit the people in the Kasungu community; who will help them to strengthen and increase their standard of living and perspective.

That is truly a construction process… largely still unknown.

It starts somewhere… it starts with: stones
